Fire Life Safety Technician (job title: General Maintenance Technologist) – Livermore, CA – Full‑time, regular
About the RoleWe are seeking a Fire Life Safety Technician (job title: General Maintenance Technologist).
Responsibilities- Analyze blueprints, schematics, and drawings of fire and/or other related electrical systems, including reviewing programming, for the purpose of determining the efficient installation of new or upgraded fire alarm and gas safety systems to ensure all work complies with relevant codes and regulations.
- Coordinate with other trades for the purpose of completing projects and work orders efficiently.
- Install, test, program and/or repair alarm systems already in place.
- Perform inspections to ensure alarms are installed according to code.
- Complete detailed inspection reports, documenting issues/deficiencies found.
Due to the nature of the work, the selected applicant must be able to work onsite.
Compensation$76,000 - $146,900.
* Salary range is estimated, and actual salary will be determined after consideration of the selected candidate's experience and qualifications, and application of any approved geographic salary differential.
Qualifications – Required- High school diploma or GED plus three or more years of directly related experience; or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.
- Selected applicants must have a valid driver's license.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE Q-level security clearance.
- Certifications related to fire safety such as NFPA Certified Fire Protection Specialist (CFPS) and/or NICET.
- Knowledge of fire safety codes and regulations, including 70 and 72.
- Knowledge and experience working on Siemens and Honeywell Notifier systems.
- Knowledge and experience with fire suppression systems (FM200, Halon, etc.).
- Effective skills in record keeping, time management, and organization.
- Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
Applicants for employment need to be able to obtain and maintain a DOE Q-level security clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship.
