Richard's Heating and Air Repair, Inc. is seeking an experienced Senior Sheet Metal Installation Specialist to join our growing field team.
For more than 25 years, our locally owned and family-operated company has served homeowners and businesses throughout the Tri-Valley area. We take pride in delivering quality HVAC and custom metal work with an emphasis on craftsmanship, safety, and dependable service.
This position is ideal for an experienced sheet metal professional who can take ownership of projects, perform advanced fabrication and installation work, and provide direction to less-experienced team members.
Compensation & Benefits- $30.00-$45.00 per hour

- Complete and oversee architectural and HVAC sheet metal projects
- Fabricate and install flashing, coping, saddles, metal panels, duct components, and custom metal pieces
- Measure and lay out materials according to project specifications
- Cut, bend, form, assemble, and fit sheet metal components
- Review architectural plans, mechanical drawings, blueprints, and job specifications
- Determine proper fabrication and installation methods for individual projects
- Verify dimensions and fit before final installation
- Coordinate daily activities with helpers, apprentices, and other field personnel
- Provide hands-on instruction and technical guidance to developing installers
- Identify and resolve fabrication or installation issues in the field
- Ensure completed work meets company quality standards and applicable building codes
- Follow established jobsite and shop safety procedures
- Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in an organized condition
- Travel to assigned jobsites throughout the Tri-Valley service area
- 5+ years of professional sheet metal fabrication and installation experience
- Architectural and/or HVAC sheet metal background
- Previous experience leading projects or directing other installers
- Strong knowledge of sheet metal layout, fabrication, forming, and installation techniques
- Ability to accurately read blueprints, mechanical plans, and technical drawings
- Comfortable working independently and making field-level decisions
- Strong attention to measurements, fit, finish, and overall workmanship
- Ability to effectively train and mentor helpers or apprentices
- Good communication and organizational skills
- High school diploma or GED
- Sheet metal or HVAC trade school education preferred
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 preferred
- Valid California driver's license with a clean driving record
- Ability to travel to jobsites daily
This is an active, hands-on position requiring the ability to:
- Lift and carry materials weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Stand, bend, reach, and perform repetitive physical tasks for extended periods
- Safely handle sheet metal, power tools, fabrication equipment, and machinery
- Work in both shop and field environments
- Wear required personal protective equipment
- Follow company and jobsite safety procedures at all times
