- Manage, train, and develop transit staff
- Implement short- and long-term strategic processes
- Oversee drivers, maintenance, dispatch, and operations staff
- Ensure daily operations meet client needs and contractual requirements
- Promote safe, high-quality transportation within the contract budget
- Oversee scheduling, expenditures, attendance, and discipline
- Perform monthly safety meetings
- Train and retrain staff and update policies, procedures, and safety guidelines
- Perform driver evaluations required by contract and ADA, DOT, and FTA requirements
- Communicate regularly with the client regarding updates, information, and system upgrades
- Monitor direct reports and provide coaching and guidance
- Perform additional assigned or required duties
- Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent combination of education and experience) in a related field
- 5+ years of experience in transit management
- Previous management experience in the Para-Transit or livery industries preferred
- Previous experience working with senior citizens or persons with disabilities
- Experience supervising hourly personnel in a passenger transportation environment
- Experience training in a classroom and behind the wheel setting
- Experience in managing a Union environment preferred
- CDL Class B with Passenger Endorsements
- Strong problem solving skills
- Ability to understand and administer discipline
- Knowledge of basic safety and training procedures
- Map reading, two-way radio communication and driving experience preferably in a demand responsive service environment
- Capabilities as it relates to data analytics preferred
- Thorough knowledge of ADA, DOT, FTA regulations preferred
- Ability to maintain high level of confidentiality
- Regular attendance is required
Demonstrates expertise in transit management, including staff training, safety compliance, and operational oversight. Proficient in managing transportation services while adhering to ADA, DOT, and FTA regulations.
