Olive Branch Fostering has an exciting opportunity for a Supervising Social Worker to join the team in the Rawtenstall area.
The RoleWe are looking for an enthusiastic, independent, and skilled social worker to work with both specialist and mainstream placements. The role involves managing a caseload of up to 15 carers (FTE) and working within a dedicated team to improve the outcomes and lives of children looked after.
Main Duties- Deliver supervision, support, and development opportunities to a target number of foster carers across the region within the agency's established framework and required standards.
- Undertake placement management, planning, and intervention to achieve and maintain an 80% occupancy rate across the Foster Carer Team.
- Ensure children’s care and development needs are met as identified within the Care Plan.
- Undertake direct work as necessary, coordinating activities of Social Work Assistants/Sessional Workers and others to further outcomes for children and young people in placement.
- Develop and maintain positive working relationships with local commissioning and social work teams to enhance partnership arrangements. Provide regular monitoring information to each local authority, including child progress reports or reports for LAC reviews.
- Assist in delivering training and support groups.
- Provide or coordinate mandatory training for foster carers.
- Identify and provide additional training to foster carers.
To apply for this position, you must:
- Hold a Dip SW/CQSW/Social Work degree and current SWE registration.
- Have a full UK driving license and access to a vehicle for work purposes.
- Be willing to undertake an enhanced DBS check.
- Have experience working to targets and performance indicators.
- Have experience in children’s services and foster care delivery.
- Be willing to participate in out-of-hours telephone support and undertake occasional out-of-hours/weekend work, including attending events, meetings, and training.
