Make a lasting difference
Do you want to make a difference to the lives of children and young people? Fostering could make that happen. Children in Newcastle need safe, nurturing homes. Newcastle City Council are looking for resilient and compassionate individuals, couples, and families to become foster carers.
You don’t need to have experience of parenting or working with children - significant training and support can be provided – but we welcome those with prior experience to consider utilising their skills as foster carers. We welcome carers from all backgrounds.
Types of Fostering- Short breaks
- Short‑term fostering
- Long‑term fostering
- Community fostering
- Specialist foster care
- Supported Lodgings (Care Leavers Aged 18‑25)
Our payments consist of two parts: a weekly allowance to cover the child’s needs, and a tiered fee. Both are dependent upon the needs of the child or children in your care, and the skills and experience you have to meet these needs. For a full breakdown of weekly fees and allowances, please visit the Newcastle fostering website.
