Catering Assistant – Retail, Royal Liverpool Hospital Outlets

Band 2, Permanent, Part‑time 35 hours per week (Mon‑Fri 9.30am‑5.00pm). Salary £24,465 per annum pro rata. Closing 04/02/2026 23:59.

Based in Royal Liverpool Hospital with potential support at Broadgreen & Aintree Hospitals. Operative in the Fresh retail unit, preparing and serving meals to patients, staff and visitors. Requires previous catering experience (cooking snacks, front‑of‑house service) and good knowledge of catering.

• Prepare and serve meals to patients, staff and visitors.
• Maintain food hygiene in main kitchens, ward kitchens, dining rooms and coffee shops.
• Undertake cleaning and monitoring duties, ensuring high quality service provision.
• Work unsupervised in a busy hospital, flexible to move between sites and work bank holidays, including Christmas Day.

• Previous catering experience.
• A general understanding of good food hygiene.
• Health and safety basic knowledge.
• Numeracy and literacy skills.
• Communication and team working skills.

• Previous industrial catering experience.
• Experience with cleaning or dishwashing machinery.
• Barista training.
• Knowledge of cash till systems.
