One Under is a mini‑golf, multi activity and cocktail bar within the competitive‑socialising sector, offering fun, immersive activity experiences for groups, couples, corporate events, Christmas parties, and alternative celebrations. The atmosphere is energetic, playful, and built around delivering memorable moments.

Role Overview

The Duty Manager is the on‑site leader during operational hours, responsible for driving guest experience, maintaining high service standards, and ensuring the venue runs smoothly. This role requires someone confident in managing a site independently, energising the team, and keeping the venue’s atmosphere fun, safe, and engaging.

Key Responsibilities
  • Take full responsibility for the venue while on shift, acting as the senior decision‑maker
  • Lead and motivate the team across bar and activity areas to deliver exceptional service
  • Champion guest experience, ensuring every visitor feels welcomed, supported, and engaged
  • Maintain and elevate service standards, coaching staff in real time
  • Oversee mini‑golf operations, ensuring courses, equipment, and activity zones are safe and guest‑ready
  • Manage group bookings, event arrivals, and high‑volume periods with confidence
  • Handle guest feedback, complaints, and on‑the‑spot problem solving
  • Ensure venue cleanliness, safety checks, and brand standards are consistently met
  • Communicate effectively with senior management about shift performance, issues, and wins
What You Bring
  • Proven experience running a venue as the on‑site manager
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide a diverse team
  • Confidence in maintaining and improving service standards
  • Experience in hospitality, leisure, or competitive‑socialising environments
  • Calm, organised approach during busy or high‑pressure moments
  • Understanding of bar operations, health & safety, and licensing basics
Working Pattern
  • Flexible shifts including evenings, weekends, and peak seasonal periods
  • Fast‑paced, hands‑on environment with varied responsibilities

Pay

Starting at £13.70 per hour negotiable based on experience
