Contract:

Fixed term 12 months, based at Liverpool campus with hybrid working options. Part‑time or flexible arrangements also considered.

We are delighted to be recruiting a Research Development Officer to join our Research, Partnerships and Innovation Directorate, supporting the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the faculty’s research ambitions and help build a strong pipeline of research activity.

The role is varied and dynamic, from horizon scanning for funding opportunities, supporting academics with grant and fellowship applications, to coordinating strategic Faculty initiatives and committees.

You will work closely with senior academics and professional services colleagues to ope rationalise research strategy, enhance bid quality, and strengthen networks that support research performance and income growth.

Responsibilities:

  • Horizon scanning for funding opportunities
  • Supporting academics with grant and fellowship applications
  • Coordinating strategic Faculty initiatives and committees

Qualifications:

  • Degree (or equivalent) and relevant research support or development experience
  • Proactive, collaborative self‑starter capable of working independently
  • Effective engagement with colleagues at all levels
  • Good understanding of the UK research funding landscape
  • Experience in bid coordination or research project support
