Hours of work:
Full-time - 35 hours per week The Institute of Systems, Molecular and Integrative Biology (ISMIB), Faculty of Health and Life Sciences, is seeking a Technician (Infrastructure Support) to help maintain safe, effective and compliant laboratory facilities that support teaching and research activities. The role involves supporting laboratory operations, equipment maintenance, health and safety activities, stock management, practical teaching sessions and general laboratory infrastructure.
You will work closely with academic, technical and professional services colleagues to ensure laboratories remain operationally ready and well maintained. You should have practical laboratory experience gained through employment, an industrial placement, apprenticeship, higher education studies or other relevant laboratory activities. You will have knowledge of laboratory health and safety practices, strong organisational skills and the ability to communicate effectively with a range of users.
This is an excellent opportunity to develop experience in laboratory operations, technical services and facility support within a busy teaching and research environment. The role involves working with biological materials, chemicals and laboratory equipment and may require occasional flexibility in working hours to support operational and teaching activities.
