Solar Field Service Technician

Astute's Renewables Team is partnering with a renewable energy provider to recruit a Field Service Technician for its Liverpool sites and surrounding areas portfolio. The role offers a competitive salary of up to £40,000 (depending on experience) and includes a company pension, private healthcare, life insurance, company van and fuel card, bonus scheme, and 33 days holiday (including bank holidays).

• Ensure optimal performance of large‑scale renewable energy assets
• Perform operations and maintenance across a portfolio of solar and battery storage sites
• Adhere to all HSE requirements and safe systems of work
• Test DC and AC systems, fault‑find and trace electrical issues
• Conduct firmware updates and use monitoring systems to identify asset performance issues
• Carry out routine inspection, maintenance and testing of electrical systems
• Analyse performance data to identify trends and recommend operational improvements
• Support occasional tasks such as panel cleaning, basic ground maintenance and CCTV checks
• Travel across your patch and occasionally support sites outside your area when required

• Level 3 qualification in Electrical Installation
• 2391 Test & Inspection (highly desirable)
• Health & Safety qualifications (advantageous)
• Full UK driving licence

• Comfortable working independently and travelling between sites
• Skilled in fault‑finding and maintenance rather than installation
• Proactive and safety‑focused
• Keen to contribute to the growth of the renewable energy sector
