We’re excited to be working on some interesting projects this year and are now looking for a Construction Operative to join our growing team in St Helens.

Responsibilities
  • Transport digital units from the depot to the installation site via a HGV truck.
  • Break ground and install digital units.
  • Replace component level parts on digital units.
  • Work as part of a two‑person crew to break ground, replace, and install new digital units and bus shelters for local communities.
  • Travel to sites in St Helens and surrounding areas, with occasional travel further afield and some night working depending on business needs.
  • Ensure traffic management measures are in place before starting work and prevent unauthorised people within your working area.
  • Follow Construction Design and Management Regulations 2015, Health and Safety policy, site‑specific risk assessments and method statements.
  • Correctly use equipment (including working at height), maintain and keep tools and equipment safe on site.
  • Commuting independently to and from the St Helens depot, with night shift duties to be paid at a premium rate if required.
Qualifications
  • Full driving licence with no more than 3 points.
  • Class 2 HGV licence.
  • CPCS A36 Lorry loader hook (novice or above).
  • CPCS Slinger.
  • Competency in CAT use.
  • NRSWA accreditation to Operative standard.
  • CDM knowledge.
  • Excavation and sub‑structure knowledge.
  • Understanding of RAMS.
  • Ability to read and understand technical drawings.
  • Competency in using power tools such as hydraulic breakers and disc saws.
