Location: Liverpool Vauxhall

Contract type: Permanent, full-time

Salary: OTE up to £52,480 (Uncapped); basic salary between £28,000 to £38,000 depending on qualifications, plus £3,000 Productivity Bonus and Time Saved Bonus Scheme

Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday‑Friday 8:30am–5:00pm, plus one in three Saturdays 8:30am–12:30pm

Lookers Liverpool Vauxhall are recruiting for a Vehicle Technician / Mechanic to join their fantastic workshop. While working alongside other experienced technicians, you will carry out vehicle health checks using the latest technology, conduct vehicle services and carry out any additional repairs.

You will report to the accomplished Aftersales Manager, who will provide ongoing support to ensure you have the tools needed to succeed in your role. We can also offer excellent career progression and training opportunities, including manufacturer accredited schemes and Hybrid & Electric training.

• Carrying out pre‑delivery inspections on new and used vehicles
• Carrying out checks in line with manufacturers' guidelines
• Fitting any additional accessories requested by the customer
• Vehicle health check and reporting any further work which may be required
• Checking the vehicles' lights, tyre pressure, mechanical and electrical components
• Completing minor repairs on new and used vehicles
  
  Understanding and carrying out basic diagnosis in both mechanical and electrical work
• Conducting vehicle service in accordance with manufacturers' guidelines and customer requests
• Carrying out any additional repairs once authorised by the customer
• Warranty repairs per the manufacturer’s guidelines with relevant write‑up complete
• Taking the customer’s vehicle out on a road test to ensure all faults are rectified
• Completing all relevant paperwork to a high standard

The ideal candidate will have prior experience as a mechanic. You should be self‑motivated, ambitious, and eager to learn, while being able to work to the highest standards. You will require a full UK driving licence and completion of NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification.

Having previous experience of working with a brand would be advantageous, although not essential as full brand accreditation training can be provided.
