From diagnosing faults to carrying out repairs and optimising system performance, your work will help ensure a seamless shopping experience for thousands of customers every day.

This is a hands‑on, mobile role that requires strong technical knowledge, a proactive approach to problem‑solving, and a commitment to high standards of service and safety. In return, you’ll benefit from ongoing training, career development opportunities, and the chance to be part of one of the UK’s most recognised and respected retail brands.

The Hiring Manager for this role is Greg Wait.

  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive repairs on refrigeration assets across Tesco stores.
  • Diagnose and resolve faults across refrigeration systems, electrical components and control systems to maximise first‑time fix rates.
  • Respond to refrigeration breakdowns and emergency call‑outs within agreed service level expectations.
  • Conduct leak detection and refrigerant repair activities in line with F‑Gas regulations and company procedures.
  • Maintain refrigeration equipment to maximise asset performance, reliability and operational lifespan.
  • Complete statutory inspections, compliance checks and maintenance records accurately and on time.
  • Support food safety by ensuring refrigeration systems maintain required temperatures and escalating issues that may impact trading operations.
  • Work safely at all times, completing dynamic risk assessments and following safe systems of work and permit‑to‑work requirements.
  • Build effective relationships with Store Managers and colleagues, providing clear updates on equipment status and repair times.
  • Manage van stock, company equipment and maintenance records while supporting multiple stores across a designated region.
