Salary: £31,000 – £35,000 per annum

FM Search & Select are recruiting for an experienced General Maintenance Operative to join a mobile maintenance team covering commercial properties across Scotland, predominantly within the Central Belt.
This is a varied, hands-on role suited to someone with a strong background in planned preventative maintenance (PPM) who enjoys working across different sites and carrying out a mixture of mechanical and general building maintenance tasks.
You'll be responsible for keeping building services systems maintained, carrying out routine inspections and completing general maintenance works across a commercial portfolio.
What You'll Be Doing
* Carrying out planned preventative maintenance across multiple commercial sites
* Replacing air filters and completing routine AHU maintenance
* Inspecting and cleaning coils and ductwork
* Checking and replacing fire damper links
* Completing water temperature checks and sampling
* Using anemometers and other equipment to take airflow and temperature readings
* Carrying out basic plumbing repairs and general maintenance
* Supporting with minor painting, joinery and other fabric maintenance tasks
* Identifying defects and reporting any additional works required
* Ensuring all maintenance tasks are completed safely and within agreed timescales
What We're Looking For
* Previous experience carrying out PPM within commercial buildings
* Good general mechanical maintenance knowledge
* Practical experience across a range of maintenance tasks
* Basic plumbing and general building maintenance skills
* An understanding of HVAC systems
* Experience working with AHUs and overdoor heaters would be beneficial, although training can be provided
* Basic electrical knowledge would be an advantage but isn't essential
* Ability to manage workloads independently and meet deadlines
* Full, clean UK driving licence
