Complex Environmental Manager

We are seeking an experienced Environmental Manager to lead environmental compliance and sustainability initiatives across a large, multi-site manufacturing and distribution operation. This is a high-visibility leadership role that partners closely with plant leadership to ensure regulatory compliance, drive continuous improvement, and promote a culture of environmental responsibility.

As the Environmental Manager, you will serve as the subject matter expert for environmental compliance and management systems while supporting operational excellence across multiple facilities.

• Lead environmental compliance programs and ensure adherence to all applicable federal, state, and local environmental regulations.
• Manage environmental permits, renewals, reporting requirements, and regulatory documentation.
• Partner with site leadership to develop and maintain effective environmental management systems.
• Monitor environmental performance metrics and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
• Conduct environmental audits, inspections, and compliance assessments.
• Develop corrective and preventive action plans and guide facilities through successful implementation.
• Provide environmental training and coaching to managers and employees.
• Serve as the primary liaison with environmental regulatory agencies and external stakeholders.
• Support incident investigations, root cause analyses, spill response activities, and remediation efforts when required.
• Oversee environmental consultants and contractors to ensure projects are completed safely, effectively, and in compliance.
• Stay current on changing environmental regulations and industry best practices, proactively identifying impacts to operations.
• Foster a culture of environmental accountability, sustainability, and operational excellence throughout the organization.

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, Chemistry, Natural Sciences, Environmental Management, or a related field preferred.
• 5+ years of environmental compliance, environmental management, manufacturing, industrial, or related experience.
• Strong working knowledge of environmental regulations, permitting requirements, and compliance programs.
• Experience managing environmental audits, inspections, and regulatory interactions.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and environmental reporting systems.
• Ability to influence and collaborate with leaders and employees across all levels of the organization.
• Willingness to travel between assigned facilities as needed.
