Part-Time - Student; Undergraduate Freshwater Ecology Research Assistant at CIMP-3D Park County, MT

Job Description

The Sweetman Lab in the Department of Ecosystem Science and Management is seeking a lab assistant to support research on the impact of macroplastic pollution on freshwater ecosystems in central Pennsylvania.

• Designing and conducting experiments on macroinvertebrate community establishment on macroplastic litter.
• Field sampling in streams, mesocosms, and sediment coring.
• Sorting field‑collected samples (macroinvertebrates).
• Data entry and microscope work.
• Miscellaneous laboratory research duties.
• Potential individual research opportunities may arise.

• Must be able to operate a motor vehicle as part of job duties, possess a valid U.S. driver’s license, and pass a motor vehicle records check.
• Successful completion of standard background checks required.
• Ability to work a 40‑hour work week; remote or hybrid work may be considered but is not guaranteed.
