Site Finance Officer, Cooperman Barnabas Medical CenterThe Site Finance Officer (SFO) plays a pivotal role as a trusted financial advisor to the hospital CEO and executive team, providing strategic guidance to help steer the future of the organization while overseeing day‑to‑day financial operations and maintaining a seamless connection with RWJBH System leadership. Taking an active, collaborative approach, the SFO will lead the annual budgeting process, design practical financial tracking tools, and fuel the hospital's growth by building strong partnerships with medical leadership and exploring innovative clinical services and emerging technologies.
Additionally, this position provides strategic oversight for the Supply Chain, and Admitting/Registration departments, ensuring that core operational teams run efficiently, compliantly and directly support the hospital's commitment to exceptional patient care.
As the site Finance Officer, a typical day might include the following:
- Morning Strategy & Leadership Alignment: Start the day by collaborating with senior leadership and department managers on strategic planning, reviewing short- and long‑range goals, and evaluating five‑year business plans to align hospital operations with its overarching mission and vision.
- Financial Monitoring & Forecasting: Review daily revenue cycle metrics—such as billing efficiency, denials, and charge capture—and analyze upcoming forecasting needs to keep operations running within approved operating and capital budgets.
- Operations & Margin Improvement: Partner directly with clinical and operational leaders to identify margin improvement opportunities, establish performance benchmarks, and adjust operational practices to hit key financial and service quality targets.

Education:
Work alongside site and service line teams to provide hands‑on financial education, assist department heads with project management, and guide new initiatives from concept to execution. - Reporting, Compliance & Governance: Dedicate time to monthly financial statement preparation, monitor service line quality and financial metrics, and coordinate with specialized corporate teams to ensure full compliance with federal, state, and local regulatory filing requirements.
