Spectrum
360, a nonprofit in Verona, NJ, seeks a Paraprofessional Aide for its Upper School serving students with autism and related disabilities. The aide will support classroom instruction, implement IEP goals and behavior plans, and assist with daily living, communication, and social skills. Working closely with teachers and therapists, you will help adapt materials, collect data, and ensure a safe, structured environment.
This collaborative, mission-driven role offers training, mentorship, and the chance to directly impact students' independence and quality of life.
Responsibilities
- Provide instructional support to Upper School students with autism and related disabilities under teacher direction
- Reinforce academic, social, and life skills through individualized and small-group activities
- Implement IEP goals, behavior support plans, and data collection procedures
- Support students with daily living skills, transitions, and classroom management
- Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and support staff to adapt materials and activities
- Use visual supports, assistive technology, and structured teaching strategies as directed
- Monitor student safety and engagement in classroom and community-based activities
- Communicate student progress and concerns to the instructional team
- Support inclusive and community-based learning experiences
- Participate in training, meetings, and professional development
