ResponsibilitiesThe experienced Staff Nurse will be responsible for providing care for patients in the Divisional Critical Care Resource Pool. As a Critical Float Pool Nurse, you will cover several different critical care areas, including Medical ICU, Burn ICU, Neuro ICU, Cardiothoracic ICU, and Coronary Care.
Qualifications- Required 2-3 years of critical care experience.
- Strong critical thinking/assessment skills.
- Must be IV certified from an approved facility or completion of requirements for IV certification within 90 days of hire to the unit.
- Completion of all orientation requirements of Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center.
- Successful completion of all Orientation Programs.
- Current and active New Jersey RN licensure is required.
- Baccalaureate Degree or Associate Degree in Nursing
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support Certification (BLS)
- American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certification (ACLS)
- Evening Shift, 7P-8A, 12.5-Hour Shift, Full-Time
- Required to work every other weekend and holiday rotations
- The Registered Nurse provides nursing care within the scope of practice defined by the Nurse Practice Act and regulatory standards, adhering to ANA ethics guidelines where applicable.
- Ensure safety in practice and advance knowledge through evidence-based practice, communicating with and utilizing available resources.
- Report identified safety issues such as hazardous environments and medical errors.
- Develop knowledge of the patient population served.
- Supervise and direct delegation of tasks to appropriate team members and collaborate with other patient care providers.
- Set and evaluate priorities with appropriate interventions and measurable outcomes toward improvement.
- Utilize the nursing process to individualize the plan of care and address specific patient needs within the interdisciplinary team.
