Pay Range: $47.85 - $60.60 per hour
Job OverviewOur private birthing rooms, equipped with birthing beds, are designed to blend home‑like, comfortable surroundings with the most up‑to‑date technology and equipment. The Labor & Delivery Suite consists of 18 private birthing rooms, four traditional delivery rooms and a large recovery room. All our birthing rooms are private and have birthing beds.
Qualifications- Must be a graduate from an accredited school of nursing
- Completion of all orientation requirements of Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center
- Successful completion of all orientation programs
- Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing or currently matriculating
- At least 2+ years of experience in Labor & Delivery nursing in an acute care setting
- Current Registered Nurse License in the state of New Jersey
- Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association
- ACLS or must obtain within 6 months of hire
- NRP or must obtain within 6 months of hire
- Full‑Time
- Night shift
- 12.5 hr. shifts
- 37.5 hrs. weekly
- Every other weekend required
Organize and administer individualized age‑specific professional care to patients within an assigned unit of the hospital in support of medical care. Support the mission and vision of the hospital, practice according to regulations and standards, participate in patient teaching and discharge planning, and take part in performance improvement activities.
Assess, stabilize and observe the infant in the delivery room, weigh the infant, administer medication after vaginal delivery, promote skin‑to‑skin bonding and support breastfeeding, interpret fetal monitor tracings, manage emergent situations, triage patients in the PET unit, serve as circulating nurse for vaginal and C/S deliveries, and support birth plans within standard of care.
