Job Title: Nursing Assistant II

Location: Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center, 94 Old Short Hills Road, Livingston, NJ 07039

Department: Medical‑Surgical Unit‑I

Shift: Night

Pay Range: $20.89 - $26.26 per hour

Provides basic, direct patient care, taking into account specific needs as related to patient’s age. Assumes responsibility for care of patients and functions as a member of the health‑care team, taking direction and guidance from Registered Nurse. All care is provided in compliance with and according to department policy/procedure and Standards of Care.

Required:

• High School Diploma
• BLS Certification through American Heart Association only
• Ability to read, write, and speak English
• Effective communication skills and basic math skills
• Successful completion of all Orientation Programs

Preferred:

• Previous Nursing Assistant experience and/or successful completion of two Registered Nurse accredited clinical courses and/or completion of a Certified Nursing Assistant program

• BLS certification through American Heart Association

• Nights 11:00PM - 7:00AM
• Every other weekend required, schedule during the week will vary depending on department needs
• Full‑Time (37.5 hrs)
• Mandatory Orientation

• Participates in assessment of patient needs and communication with the health‑care team
• Participates in staff, patient and/or family education to a degree consistent with personal knowledge base
• Participates in unit Quality Improvement activities
• Uses an understanding of the principles of growth and development to assess each patient’s age‑specific needs and provide age‑specific treatment and care
