Registered Nurse - Labor & Delivery
This is a 13-week contract position.
Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (19:30 - 06:30).
The Registered Nurse in Labor & Delivery provides comprehensive care for women during labor and delivery, as well as during the antepartum, postpartum, and nursery phases. The nurse will facilitate a safe delivery experience and ensure both maternal and fetal health throughout the process.
Responsibilities:
- Circulate during C-sections and assist in high-risk deliveries.
- Monitor patients pre-and post-delivery and provide appropriate care.
- Perform assessments, noting vital signs and any issues regarding fetal heart rate patterns.
- Educate parents about childbirth, postpartum care, and breastfeeding support.
- Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team and float to other units as needed (Antepartum, Postpartum, PACU).
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in Labor & Delivery.
- Must have experience circulating for C-sections.
- Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, FHM, and NRP.
- Active NJ or Compact nursing license required upon submission.
