Position Overview A leading petrochemical manufacturer is seeking a Sales Representative (Export Sales) to maximize export sales for its Polyolefins division. This role focuses on generating new business in line with corporate strategy while growing and maintaining existing customer relationships in international markets.
Key Responsibilities- Establish and coordinate strategies for growth and business/product development in export markets.
- Provide feedback on market strategies, competitive intelligence, and customer needs.
- Recommend market strategies and pricing to optimize customer product mix and profitability.
- Act as liaison to initiate, negotiate, and facilitate business practices such as pricing, credit terms, and sales contracts; solicit sales orders and execute contracts.
- Partner with marketing/business development to create and implement sales strategic plans and tactics.
- Develop pre-contract plans, identify and contact key decision makers, and drive the sales solicitation process.
- Develop and sustain high-quality customer relationships with export clients.
- Collaborate internally to meet and reinforce customer expectations and brand commitments.
- Conduct ongoing market research on competitive dynamics, pricing, and market trends.
- Develop and support competitive sales and marketing plans.
- Coordinate with Technical Service teams to provide technical support, resolve product quality complaints, and support product development initiatives.
- Coordinate price adjustments or payment discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Ensure prompt resolution of customer complaints and service issues.
- Support depletion of non-prime inventory according to monthly marketing strategies.
- Manage REACH compliance for customers in the UK and EU.
- Provide forecasts and market intelligence for Mexico terminal and bonded warehouse operations, monitor inventory, and manage sales to ensure optimal value.
- Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university required; MBA and/or Chemical Engineering degree preferred.
- 3–7 years of experience in a related, sales-focused role, preferably within petrochemicals or the plastics industry.
- Strong PC skills:
Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook. - Must possess a passport or be able to obtain one.
- Excellent communication skills, including English verbal comprehension and professional report writing.
- Familiarity with plastics industry processes, products, and terminology.
- Ability to coordinate, facilitate, and mediate solutions to customer, regulatory, and business community inquiries.
- Ability to write professional presentations, reports, and articles that conform to prescribed style and format.
- Comfortable presenting information to senior management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
- Strong numerical aptitude, including working with probability, statistical concepts, fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions in real-world scenarios.
- Strong analytical skills: able to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Ability to interpret technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and handle both abstract and concrete variables.
- Ability to read critically and understand economic information and publications relevant to the industry and markets.
- Experience with CRM systems.
- Occasional travel to meet with customers (domestic and/or international), with the ability to perform duties at the same standard while traveling as in the office.
- Regular, reliable attendance and flexibility to work outside normal business hours as required.
- Ability to handle average work-related stress and manage multiple priorities.
