TITLE:Deputy Director
REPORTS TO:Project Director
LOCATION:Deep East Texas Workforce Development Area
EMPLOYMENT TYPE:Full-Time, Exempt Employee
Career Team is looking to hire a Deputy Director tasked with assisting management in planning, organizing, and directing the daily operations of the Workforce Solutions Centers. Reporting to the Project Director, the Deputy Director serves as direct support to all front-line staff and customers at the Workforce Center.
Your Impact on Career Team’s Success:- Work with the Project Director to ensure that Intensive and Standard Operating Procedures are carried out consistently with Workforce Solutions Deep East Texas (WSDET) and Texas Workforce Commission (TWC) policies and procedures toward stated goals
- Provide general day-to-day operational guidance to all direct staff across the twelve-county Deep East region
- Serve as the primary operational point of contact in the Project Director's absence
- Conduct cross-training and other events to promote relationship building between the various offices, divisions, and partnering agencies
- Lead staff development efforts and assist the Project Director with budgetary alignment across multiple funding streams
- Provide supervision and ongoing support to Center management
- Oversee Managers and provide guidance on assigned duties, program implementation, program compliance, and technical assistance
- Schedule, attend, coordinate, and lead meetings with management staff, partners, and Board staff as needed
- Facilitate staff meetings and training as needed and directed
- Work with the Project Director and department leadership team to implement the strategic vision for operations, assessment, and marketing within the centers, developing shared strategic priorities
- Continually seek professional development and feedback on supervision style and approaches to better enhance customer service, staff development, morale, and cohesion
- Maintain up-to‑date knowledge of standard operating procedures and contract updates/changes
- Collaborate with partner agencies and Workforce Board subject matter experts, including but not limited to program managers, fiscal staff, purchasing, IT, quality assurance, and the executive team, to advance the mission of the Board and Career Team
- Approach each day and task with a "ZAG" mindset
- Other duties and projects as needed

To Qualify for This Role, You Must Have:- Bachelor's degree or higher in business, marketing, public relations, or community organization/development, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- 3+ years of direct supervisory experience overseeing front-line or program staff
- Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain relationships with diverse constituents
- Stellar oral and written communication skills, adept at communicating to large groups as well as individuals
- Commitment to ongoing professional development, with the ability and motivation to learn new software, information, and necessary skills
- Ability to supervise staff, interns, and volunteers
