An employee in this classification performs routine clerical library duties under the supervision of a professional Librarian of a Library Aide. Examples or work are: shelving books and magazines, "reading" shelves to determine if the books are in their proper place, finding books for patrons, mending books and magazines, and performing related duties as assigned. Student pages may be required to work evenings and Saturdays.
* Be a citizen of the United States or resident alien with the right to work in the United States; and
* Have reached their 15th birthday; and
* Be currently enrolled in high school.
Input information into the computer; prepare, keep and maintain reports from records; understand oral instructions; use communication skills in providing courteous and effective response to public service inquiries.
Establish and maintain effective working relationships with public and other City of Livonia employees.
