Special Education - Secondary Resource/Co-Teaching - Clarenceville High School

Position Overview

POSITION: High School Resource Room Teacher
LOCATION: Clarenceville High School
SCHEDULE:  School Year
SALARY: Per the CEA Master Agreement
POSTING DATE: November 2025
DEADLINE: Until Filled

Qualifications
  • Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate with full Special Education certification.
  • Must meet all requirements per rule 340.1749 of the Michigan State Board of Education.
  • Experience in supporting subject area content.
  • Experience in co‑teaching with General Education teachers to support successful integration and achievement within the general education curriculum.
  • Ability to integrate technology into the curriculum.
  • Skilled in addressing academic and behavioral needs of students and the development of behavior intervention plans and functional behavior assessments.
  • Skilled in curriculum‑based assessments, progress monitoring and data collection and representation.
  • Proficiency in integrating technology into instruction as a tool for student learning for work production, instruction and communication.
  • Must be CPI trained or willing to be CPI trained within 30 days of hire and annually update certification.
Responsibilities & Duties
  • Individualized instruction to meet the unique needs of students that supports their goals.
  • Utilize evidence‑based practices to facilitate student success.
  • Accommodate the general education curriculum for special needs students, based upon a variety of instructional techniques and technologies.
  • Demonstrate consistent, effective management of student behavior.
  • Manage a safe, comfortable learning environment.
  • Comply with state and federal special education regulations.
  • Prepare for, participate in, and provide leadership in the IEP Process.
  • Provide direction and support to classroom paraprofessional.
  • Maintain effective communication and relationships with students, parents, administrators, paraprofessional, school personnel and community representatives.
  • Inform supervisor of student's progress.
  • Inform supervisor of program concerns.
  • Maintain accurate and complete student records.
  • Coordinate and conduct effective parent conferences.
  • Demonstrate professional conduct and exhibit professional growth.
