Job SummaryClassroom Instructor
Job Duties• Teach welding courses to students in a classroom setting.
• Prepare instructional materials and lesson plans.
• Assess student progress and provide feedback.
Required Qualifications- Associate’s degree in Welding or Journeyman Welder.
- American Welding Society (AWS) Welding Certification.
- Two (2) years work experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in Welding Technology or related area.
- Five (5) years work experience.
- Two (2) years teaching experience.
Language Skills
• Ability to read, analyze and interpret complex documents.
• Ability to respond to sensitive inquiries or complaints.
• Ability to write speeches and articles with innovative style.
• Ability to deliver effective and persuasive speeches to top management and public groups. Mathematical Skills
• Ability to work with probability, statistical inference, geometry and trigonometry.
• Ability to apply fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practice. Reasoning Ability
• Ability to apply logical or scientific thinking to a range of problems and symbols. Physical Demands
• Regularly stand, use hands, talk or hear; occasionally reach, walk, sit, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
• May lift up to 10 lb. (seldom 25 lb.).
• Vision: close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception and focus adjustment. Work Environment
• May work near moving mechanical parts; may work in a laboratory with safety rules and chemical tolerance.
• Noise level is usually moderate.
Per Faculty Contract
Work HoursPart time; hours vary by semester.
