Young Fives Kindergarten Paraprofessional

Livonia Public Schools is seeking a highly qualified Young Fives Kindergarten Paraprofessional who is responsible for a variety of duties in supporting student needs in the classroom. The Young Fives Kindergarten Paraprofessional works closely with the classroom teacher and other professional staff to assist in a multitude of activities to ensure student achievement.

Minimum qualifications for this position include an associate's degree in Early Childhood Education, CDA, or meeting the "highly qualified" standard, complete equivalent of at least two years college or minimum associates, pass the "Work Keys" assessment, a passionate commitment to working with students, knowledge of Creative Curriculum and Teaching Strategies Gold, demonstrated positive interpersonal relationships, strong verbal and written communication skills, and a high level of professionalism and exemplary organizational skills.

Major functions and responsibilities include exhibiting a commitment to the District's Shared Vision and Collective Commitments, creating a welcoming and positive classroom culture and climate, working collaboratively with the Young 5's teacher, providing effective group and individualized instructional support, using appropriate motivational and classroom/behavior management, implementing daily activities consistent with an understanding of the developmental needs of the students, and performing other duties as assigned.
