Position: Secondary World History/Social Studies Teacher

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Education required.
• Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate with appropriate Social Studies endorsement.
• World History endorsement or experience teaching World History preferred.
• Additional certification in another core academic area is a plus.
• Experience working successfully with at-risk students preferred.
• Strong classroom management and instructional skills.
• Ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with students, staff, and parents.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines.
• Proficient in the use of educational technology and digital learning tools.
• Ability to develop engaging, standards-aligned lessons that promote critical thinking and student achievement.

Estimated Starting Date: Fall 2026

Reports to: Building Principal

Salary: Salary as negotiated with the WPS Board of Education
