Crescent Academy is currently hiring for a Math Teacher for grades 7th – 8th.
Crescent Academy serves over 500 students at grade level PreK-12. Job SummaryWe are seeking a passionate and dedicated Math Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mathematics and a passion for teaching. This position requires an individual who can create engaging lesson plans, foster a love for math, and provide instruction that meets the diverse learning needs of students.
Responsibilities- Develop and implement comprehensive math lesson plans that meet the curriculum standards and cater to diverse learning styles.
- Develop assessments and monitor student performance through various methods, including tests, quizzes, projects, and presentations.
- Collaborate with colleagues to align curricula and participate in ongoing professional development initiatives.
- Participate in school activities, meetings, and events to contribute to the overall mission of the institution.
- Maintain a safe and positive environment for all students
- Maintain effective communication with students, parents, and school staff
- Regular and predictable attendance
- Supervision of multiple students at once
- Establishing routines and procedures

- Create and implement instructional plans

- Occasionally lift/move objects weighing up to 25lbs
- Stand and walk frequently
- Occasionally sit on the floor or bend down/squat
- Withstand all demands presented by outside weather conditions at any time of the year
- Withstand a moderate noise level
- Be able to perform first aid/CPR if necessary
- Assist/lift students, as necessary
- Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Education, or a related field.
- Valid teaching certification/license in Michigan for secondary education with an endorsement in the subject.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in planning and assessing educational activities.
- Strong knowledge of math curriculum and state standards.
- Minimum Qualifications
- Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate with Mathematics endorsement preferred.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics, Mathematics Education, Secondary Education, or a related field required.
- Master’s Degree preferred.
- Minimum of three years of successful secondary mathematics teaching experience.
- Demonstrated expertise in Algebra, Geometry, Algebra II, and higher-level mathematics courses.
- Experience analyzing student achievement data and implementing intervention programs.
- Strong knowledge of Michigan Academic Standards and state assessment requirements.
- Strong content knowledge in secondary mathematics.
- Ability to coach and support teachers effectively.
- Knowledge of MTSS, differentiated instruction, and intervention strategies.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
- Ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, families, and community partners.
- Proficiency in educational technology and student data systems.
