Instructor – Part Time (English‑Intro to Journalism) Applicant Pool
Position:
Part‑time Instructor for Introduction to Journalism (ENG 107).
Responsibilities:
Classroom instruction in introductory journalism, including delivering lectures, facilitating discussions, and grading assignments.
- Master’s degree in English with at least two graduate courses in Journalism.
- Prior teaching experience in a college setting.
Language
Skills:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex documents; respond effectively to inquiries; write speeches and articles; give persuasive presentations.
Mathematical
Skills:
Working knowledge of probability, statistical inference, geometry, trigonometry, fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions.
Reasoning Ability:
Applying logical and scientific thinking to intellectual and practical problems.
Physical Demands:
Regular standing, speaking, walking; occasional reaching, lifting up to 10 lb (sometimes 25 lb); visual acuity required for reading and writing.
Work Environment:
Moderate noise level, occasional proximity to moving mechanical parts or laboratory chemicals; safe work practices required.
