POSITION SUMMARY : The STEM Explorer primarily runs in alignment with weekday K-12 school hours, with some weekend and evening dates. We will work around your school schedule.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING :

• Assist elementary-age children through adults as they interact with hands-on STEM activities at public events and middle and high school students in educational modules at school visits.
• Work with STEM Explorer Project Coordinator in setup and clean-up for public events and school visits.
• Learn and effectively communicate basic science principles underlying STEM activities and modules.
• Restock STEM Explorer vehicle supplies and change out on-board modules as needed.
• Clean and organize workspace daily.
• Support STEM Explorer Supervisor in developing, modifying, and trouble-shooting modules.
• Support program as needed; may include administrative assistant duties.
• Learn and use project computers, software, and equipment, including Microsoft Office software, PCs, iPads, gaming systems, 3D printers, and 3D modeling software with support from supervisor.

Required Qualifications

• Ability to work independently, collaboratively, and with a diverse population of students, teachers, and other team members.
• Ability to work in a fast-moving environment and complete a variety of tasks.
• Knowledge of and/or the ability to learn STEM concepts for each educational module.
• Strong verbal communication and listening abilities, particularly with youth.
• Able to lift objects up to 50 lbs.
• Availability primarily during weekday K-12 school hours, with some weekend and evening dates; ability to work flexible schedules including some early and late hours.
• Reliable own transportation and ability to transport self to regional schools.
• Ability to learn on the job.
• Must be enrolled at Delta College and registered and maintain a minimum of six (6) credit hours during
