As a Project Manager in the Environmental and Water Resources Group, you will lead a range of water resources projects across the Midwest. The EWRG is a diverse 55+ person team looking for an experienced project manager with a passion for water resources. EWRG works on a variety of water, wastewater, and stormwater projects including modeling of distribution and collection systems, asset management, stream restoration, green infrastructure, and a range of facility designs.

A successful candidate for the Water Resources Project Manager position is team oriented, organized, and has strong technical skills. The candidate takes initiative and stays current on software, regulations, and technology.

Your Responsibilities

Project Management:

  • Effectively communicating project goals, alternatives, recommendations, and outcomes to project team, client and public.
  • Prepare and manage scope, schedule and budget for proposals and contracts.
  • Manage staff, sub-consultants and expenses during project implementation.
  • Manage studies, reports, water and sewer modeling efforts, and/or design and construction of water distribution systems, sewage collection, storage facilities, control vaults, pumping stations, booster stations, water and wastewater treatment, stormwater systems, and green infrastructure.
  • Anticipate project issues, including advising the client on alternatives and providing recommendations for solving issues.
Team & Client Management:
  • Secure environmental water resources work with current and future clients including cross selling of services.
  • Timely and accurately complete and sub-consultant invoices and collections.
  • Mentor junior staff and lead teams.
  • Implement projects from scope to completion including overall decision-making and QA/QC.
  • Understand services and how they relate to client's organization and needs.
Requirements

Education, Experience & Licensure:
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering or related field required.
  • Minimum of 8 years of progressively increasing responsibility in water resources including managing projects and proposal writing.
  • State of Michigan Professional Engineer license required.
  • Familiarity with hydraulic/hydrologic modeling of water distribution, wastewater, stormwater systems.
  • Experience with water and wastewater infrastructure design considerations.
Technical

Skills:

  • Analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Computer skills associated with the following programs:
    Microsoft Word, Excel, AutoCAD and/or Revit, Bluebeam or other PDF software, and scheduling software, such as MS Project.
  • Demonstrated ability to take the initiative to solve challenging problems.
  • Self-directed and ability to prioritize, multi-task, and meet deadlines.
  • Team-oriented mindset and strong listening and collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in the related engineering field with a focus on water, wastewater, and reclaimed water engineering preferred.
  • State of Ohio, Kentucky, and/or Tennessee Professional Engineer license desirable but not required.
