Job Description:

- Demonstrate conceptual estimating proficiency in the scope review process, subcontractor knowledge, on-screen takeoff and estimating software platforms, and interior estimating.
- Survey, quantify materials, and produce assemblies from drawings.
- Prepare proposal letters, qualification and clarification sheets.
- Read and interpret technical documents such as Geotechnical Reports and Due Care Plans.
- Manage supplier and subcontractor bid invitations for respective estimates.
- Contact and follow up with subcontractors and suppliers for pricing input.
- Demonstrate knowledge of client relations and estimate presentations.
- Possess great knowledge with regard to technical specifications and pricing levels.
- Review contract scopes and associated dollar figures.
- Assist with subcontractor recommendations and buyouts.
- Meet deadline challenges and prioritize multiple assignments simultaneously.
- Work in conjunction with the bid team to prepare accurate bid proposals.
- Provide technical assistance to Project Managers in negotiating contracts, change orders, etc. as required.
- Ensure timely and complete bid submission and manage all required bid submission requirements (schedule, logistics, breakdown pricing, etc.).
- Ensure clean handoff of estimate, bidding information, drawings, specifications, etc. to the project management team; assist with kickoff meetings.
- Organize and perform quantity take‑offs.
- Honor the brand promises of the Project Planning Group at Christman.
- Complete assigned and required training for this role.
Required Experience, Knowledge, and
Skills:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Engineering, Business, Finance, or a related field.
- Three (3) years of work experience in construction or a related field — or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Skills:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Engineering, Business, Finance, or a related field.
- Proficiency with Planswift and Win Est estimating software.
- Basic understanding of accounting and project management concepts.
- Deep understanding of research methodology, data analysis, and estimation metrics.
