Software Transmission Controls Engineer

Akkodis is seeking a Software Transmission Controls Engineer for a Contract with a client in Livonia, MI. The ideal candidate is responsible for responsible for developing and managing automatic transmission control features, including requirement coordination, validation, and software release activities.

Rate Range: $40/hour to $42/hour;
The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

Software Transmission Controls Engineer Job Responsibilities include:

• Develop and manage automatic transmission control software features using C-code and MATLAB/Simulink.
• Coordinate requirements, changes, and validations with HIL and calibration teams.
• Perform software testing and validation, ensuring quality metrics such as coverage and performance are met.
• Act as the primary point of contact for issue triage, troubleshooting, and resolution.
• Support software releases, documentation, and lifecycle processes including test reports and calibration guides.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams in an Agile environment to deliver reliable and high-quality transmission control solutions.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, Electrical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related field.
• 4-6 years of experience in automatic transmission software development and control systems.
• Hands-on expertise in C programming and MATLAB/Simulink (including Stateflow) for developing and testing transmission control algorithms.
• Strong experience with software testing, validation metrics, and Agile development processes, along with the ability to coordinate with calibration and HIL teams for end-to-end delivery.

Pay Details: $40.00 to $42.00 per hour
