Talascend is currently seeking an
Engine Test Technician for a contract opportunity with our client in Livonia, Michigan
.
Seeking a hands-on, mechanically inclined automotive enthusiast for a level II engine dynamometer testing position supporting engine durability or development testing. The role involves setup, operation, and monitoring of engine tests, working closely with engineers and support staff.
Responsibilities- Setup and operate engine test cells.
- Conduct engine test procedures and instrumentation monitoring.
- Perform regular engine health checks during testing.
- Remove engines after test completion.
- Collaborate with engineers and support staff to execute testing protocols.
- Minimum high school diploma or equivalent.
- 4+ years of automotive mechanical related experience.
- Must be a self-starter.
- Excellent engine mechanical and electrical diagnostic skills.
- Proficient with computers, including MS Office applications.
- Must have own tools and a rolling toolbox.
- Willing to work overtime and weekends as needed.
- Flexible, eager to learn, with strong attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, organizational, and customer service skills.
- Associate degree or technical training in an automotive related field.
- Engine teardown/build skills and ability to follow an engine assembly manual.
- Ability to perform simple fabrications and assemblies.
- Engine dynamometer controls operation experience or training with AVL PUMA and/or A & D iTest.
