What You Will Contribute to OHM Advisors
OHM Advisors' Environmental & Water Resource Group (EWRG) is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Project Engineer with a strong background in pump station design and hydraulic analysis to join our growing team. As a Senior Project Engineer, you will directly contribute to the planning, design, and construction of water and wastewater infrastructure projects, with a specific focus on pump stations and related hydraulic systems.
This role offers the opportunity to lead projects, mentor junior engineers, and contribute to the development of innovative solutions for complex water resource challenges.
Your Responsibilities
- Lead the design of water booster stations and wastewater pump stations, including hydraulic calculations and equipment selection (pumps, valves, piping).
- Perform hydraulic modeling and analysis using industry-standard software (e.g., WaterGEMS, Info Works WS, HEC-RAS) to evaluate system performance and optimize designs.
- Develop detailed design drawings, specifications, and construction documents to ensure compliance with all applicable codes, standards, and regulations. Drawing development includes piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs).
- Conduct site visits and inspections to assess existing conditions and monitor construction progress.
- Manage construction phase work on water and wastewater projects including contract management, site visits, and regular interaction with contractors. Check performance and/or conformity with design drawings and specifications through field inspection and testing during construction of projects.
- Collaborate with other engineering disciplines (structural, electrical, geotechnical) to ensure integrated and coordinated designs.
- Manage project budgets and schedules, along with preparing technical reports, presentations, proposals and permit applications.
- Coordinate equipment startup, controls coordination, and system testing. Perform operational analysis and troubleshooting.
- Stay up-to-date on industry best practices and emerging technologies related to pump station design and hydraulic engineering.
- Assist with training midlevel engineers, new graduates, and interns.
