Ford's Generator Systems Engineering team is seeking an experienced Systems Engineer to lead the integration and development of Inverter and Generator systems for next-generation Extended Range Electric Vehicle (EREV) applications.
This role will serve as the technical lead responsible for defining, managing, and delivering system-level requirements and interfaces between the inverter, generator, vehicle controls, and vehicle architecture teams. The successful candidate will work closely with Tier 1 suppliers and cross-functional engineering organizations to develop robust, high-quality electrified propulsion solutions from concept through production launch.
The ideal candidate is an experienced electrified propulsion systems engineer with strong technical expertise in Inverter systems, Power electronics, high-voltage integration, and supplier management.
The PD Engineer is responsible for managing product release CAD and BOM structures, including assembly positioning and mass attribute analysis. This role also includes facilitating supplier data integration and developing CAD studies to support and drive design improvements.
The PD Engineer is expected to understand and effectively utilize product check-in/check-out processes, version control, data release, and change management within Ford’s PLM ecosystem.
The PD Engineer will perform feasibility analyses using CAD tools, including draft angle analysis, undercut detection, minimum bend radius validation for sheet metal, and clearance checks to support manufacturing and machining requirements.
