The Human Resources Generalist is a key role supporting both the administrative and operational functions of the HR Business Partnering team, ensuring seamless execution of core HR processes. This role plays a critical part in employee engagement, culture activation and labor relations support, while acting as a key liaison between employees, local Field HR, HR Shared Services, and cross‑functional partners. The HR Generalist also assists with talent management, policy implementation, employee relations and HR compliance, contributing to a positive and high‑performing workplace.
This role sits in our Livonia, Michigan offices, the headquarters for RNDC Michigan.
- Leadership & Strategy:
Provide daily HR support to leaders and staff, field HRBPs;
Will be asked to analyze HR metrics to guide data‑driven decisions and evaluate initiatives. - Compensation & Benefits:
Manage union and non‑union enrollments, changes, and employee inquiries; communicate perks and support salary and benefits processes. - Employee Relations:
Address policy and workplace concerns; support conflict resolution and disciplinary actions in alignment with company policies. - Talent Acquisition:
Support recruitment efforts, applicant tracking, generate employment offers, manage all pre‑employment and onboarding actions, including orientation and cultural integration. - Talent Development:
Support training programs on compliance, behavior, and skills; help assess needs and recommend learning solutions. - Performance Management:
Assist with appraisals, tracking, and improvement plans; promote performance best practices. - Organizational Development:
Drive engagement, team‑building, wellness, and recognition programs; support retention through feedback and surveys. - HR Administration:
Ensure policy compliance, maintain accurate records, manage leaves and compensation issues, partner with Safety and administrators of worker's compensation claims, report on HR metrics.
- Bachelor's degree in HR, Business Administration, or related field preferred
- Minimum 4–6 years of progressive HR experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience, including labor relations/union.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to convey HR policies clearly; excellent interpersonal and active listening skills; multilingual a plus.
- Proficient in basic math and data analysis for payroll, benefits, and HR metrics; capable of preparing reports and interpreting trends.
- Strong critical thinking and judgment to resolve employee issues and interpret policies, regulations, and labor laws.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and HR systems (e.g., SAP Success Factors, Workday, ADP); familiar with ATS, payroll, and timekeeping software.
- HR certification preferred (e.g., SHRM‑CP, PHR); knowledge of employment laws, labor relations, and HR best practices.
- Able to stay agile during change, manage multiple tasks, maintain confidentiality, and work both independently and collaboratively in a fast‑paced environment.
- Labor Relations - experience working with union workers and CBAs
- Success Factors proficiency (SAP)
