IT Systems Administrator

Reports to:

Director of Information Technology

Education Required:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• 3–5 years of systems/infrastructure administration.
• Certifications a plus (Microsoft, VMware, Security+, ITIL Foundation).

The IT Systems Administrator ensures reliable, secure, and compliant technology operations across production, quality, engineering, and corporate functions. The role focuses on maximizing uptime for plant-floor systems, strengthening cybersecurity and audit readiness (CMMC and TISAX), and reducing reliance on the MSP.
Please note, this is an on- site position located in Livonia Michigan. There is no relocation assistance offered with this position.

• Support servers, storage, virtualization, networking, and wireless systems.
• Maintain uptime and performance for CNC machines, PLCs, HMIs, and plant-floor applications.
• Implement OT/IT network segmentation and secure access.
• Manage VMware, Microsoft 365, Azure AD/Entra , Active Directory, Intune, and GPO.
• Own Tier 2/3 incidents now escalated to MSP; transition repeatable tasks in-house.
• Lead infrastructure projects end-to-end.
• Maintain SOPs, runbooks, images, and system documentation.
• Operate patching and vulnerability management programs.
• Assist with CMMC/TISAX controls: hardening, access reviews, log checks, backups.
• Prioritize tickets impacting production and support after-hours maintenance.

• Manufacturing IT experience preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft ecosystem, virtualization, networking, and OT integrations.
• Strong troubleshooting across office IT and plant-floor systems.
• Cybersecurity and compliance understanding (CMMC, TISAX).
• Communication, documentation, customer service proficiency.
• System Maintenance and Administration:
  Knowledgeable for routine system tasks such as monitoring Epico CMS jobs on our IBM iSeries (AS400)

Industrial Plant setting. Safety protection is required.
