Position Summary
The Application Administrator is responsible for configuring and supporting applications and partnering with business application users. The Application Administrator is a point of contact and subject matter expert in all functional and operational aspects of at least one business software application, partners with the business to provide IT support for organizational initiatives or activities, and leads special projects. The Application Administrator also is responsible for mentoring and assisting less experienced Application Administrators or Specialists to resolve complex problems.
PrincipalResponsibilities
- Configures and supports complex software application issues experienced by end users promptly and professionally.
- Serves as the primary point of contact between IT and assigned functional business areas for routine application configuration improvement projects.
- Partners to diagnose and resolve complex software application issues escalated by other members of the software application team.
- Ensures that accurate and effective solutions are provided to end users and that end user support needs are met with a consistently high quality of service.
- Engages appropriate IT and business resources to resolve technical issues and support business processes while updating users on progress toward resolution.
- Acts as a coach and mentor for newer or less experienced team members.
- Performs IT-related activities for projects to support the company priorities.
- Identifies and recommends system modifications to reduce user issues.
- Fully documents each issue and resolution using the incident tracking system.
- Apprises team, peers, and management of any new support issues in a clear and timely manner.
- Documents processes and procedures for training IT team and end users.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned or apparent.
- 2 years of business systems analytical experience, including the ability to flow chart processes.
- 2 years of experience with Structured Query Language (SQL).
- Experience working with an off-shore development and QA team.
- Experience writing reports, business correspondence and procedures manuals.
- Minimum 2 years of experience with administrating and supporting end user applications (eg. Oracle ERP, Order to Cash, Fleet Management, Finance, Human Resources).
