Sr. Quality Assurance Analyst, Engineering Overview
The Copper Hill QA team ensures our products are reliable and perform as expected. The Sr. Quality Assurance Analyst helps ensure the Copper Hill Application supports operational excellence across Global Trade Management workflows. This role goes beyond functional testing by partnering with Product, Engineering, and Operations to strengthen test coverage, validate real-world scenarios, and support operational readiness.
The ideal candidate works directly with end users to understand operations and support acceptance testing. This role requires consistent availability during core business operation hours to support critical business processes, along with strong business domain expertise and the ability to turn operational scenarios and regulatory requirements into effective test strategy and regression coverage.
- Lead planning sessions to review upcoming features, clarify requirements, and identify quality risks early.
- Turn operational realities into risk‑based test strategy, including:
- Historical and edge‑case behaviors
- Design and execute complex manual test cases covering real‑world user scenarios, business rules, and operational dependencies.
- Create test data and lead stress and volume testing for high data loads.
- Build deep operational expertise to identify high‑risk features and define test coverage.
- Partner with Product, Engineering, and Scrum teams to drive defect triage, resolution, and feature validation for readiness, accuracy, performance, and operational fit.
- Lead expansion of regression and automated test coverage while strengthening a reliable, scalable test environment.
- Lead regression, functional, and scenario‑based testing aligned to operational use cases.
- Lead bug triage, validate hotfixes, confirm regression results, and assess release readiness.
- Lead UAT with Operations, validating feedback against business requirements and partnering with end users to guide testing and capture input.
- Mentor QA team members and promote best practices, test discipline, and domain knowledge.
- Basic to intermediate programming/scripting skills.
- Ability to understand system architecture, troubleshoot issues, analyze logs, and collaborate effectively with developers.
- Demonstrate willingness and capability to learn new technologies quickly.
- Understanding of QA methodologies.
- Demonstrate analytical thinking and a quality‑first mindset.
- Ability to manage priorities, meet deadlines, and make sound decisions under pressure.
- Hands‑on experience with relevant technologies.
- Leadership experience fostering a team’s growth.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills across technical and operational audiences.
- Strong presentation and facilitation skills with the ability to influence decisions.
- Strong knowledge of software development life cycle, test strategy, defect management, and release processes.
- Experience with automated testing tools such as Playwright, Selenium, or Cypress.
- Exposure to testing APIs with Postman or similar tools preferred.
- Experience partnering across Product, Engineering, Operations, and business teams preferred.
- Operations and regulatory experience preferred.
- Customs interactions, audits, broker coordination, and exception handling experience preferred.
