Responsibilities
  • Works in discovering the information hidden in vast amounts of data to help inform leadership in presenting data to leadership, allowing them to make smarter decisions to deliver better performance of the THCE program. The primary focus is applying data mining techniques, doing advanced analysis, and building high quality ad hoc systems integrated with operations. Automates scoring techniques to assist in department improvements, builds recommendation systems, improves and extends features used by existing applications, develops internal A/B testing procedures, builds system data integration between multiple applications, develops applications and reports to assist leadership in the decision making process, and creates and automates reporting and processes to assist the THCE team with performance.
  • Works closely with Trinity Information Services to ensure the CMMS Application servers are maintained and current. Provides first-level support for downtime occurrences. Leads processing of patches and updates to the applications. Creates topic-specific ad hoc applications within SQL and HTML to meet operations needs (e.g., HTML Splash Page, automatic notifications, THCE Finance Application for budget building and Intercompany Transfer documentation); interfaces to/from systems such as People Soft.
  • Responsible for learning and supporting the new cloud-based Facilio (CMMS) to support adding fields and reports as the THCE Department grows in operational performance.
  • POSITION PURPOSE
    :
    Reiterates the data discovery and analytics focus, including automating scoring techniques, building ad hoc systems, data integration, and supporting leadership with decision making; includes similar CMMS and interface responsibilities as above.
Essential Functions
  • Knows, understands, incorporates and demonstrates the Trinity Health Mission, Vision, and Values in behaviors, practices and decisions.
  • Maintains working knowledge of applicable laws, Trinity Health policies, and ethics requirements to ensure honest, ethical, and professional behavior.
  • Develops solutions to support relationships with System Office finance, purchasing and TIS to improve data mining and analytics for THCE operations through the CMMS; acts as data expert for CMMS data structures and tables; leads development of new end-user tools.
  • Supports the Business Applications team to ensure CMMS compliance with relevant regulations and standards (e.g., JCAHO EC, AOA, CAP, ANSI/AAMI EQ).
  • Manages CMMS Web-based work order entry and related hardware peripherals; troubleshoots CMMS issues; coordinates/upgrades with Trinity Information Systems.
  • Analyzes and maintains standardized data tables; develops database-stored procedures to support operations and analytics.
  • Proactively analyzes, monitors, and creates reports to identify cost reduction, resource productivity, and contract or service expirations and compliance improvements using tools like Excel, Power BI, Tableau.
  • Provides other database support and completes tasks as assigned.
  • Maintains professional demeanor aligned with Trinity Health values and promotes the organization’s mission.
  • Maintains HIPAA compliance and confidentiality of patient, physician, and staff information.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration or information technology, or equivalent combination of education and experience; five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in data analytics or informatics; MBA/advanced degree preferred. Experience in supply chain, finance/accounting, inventory control, production or purchasing is strongly preferred.
  • In-depth knowledge of the system development lifecycle and methodologies for collecting, analyzing and evaluating large data sets.
  • Strong working knowledge of SQL, HTML, Service Now and database schemas. Proficient in Excel, Power BI, Tableau, Visio, Access, MS Project and PowerPoint.
  • Strong working knowledge of computers (operating systems, networking, and web-based application development languages such as HTML and Java).
  • Ability to challenge conventional thinking and work effectively in a collaborative, shared leadership environment.
  • Strong analytical skills, including the ability to define critical issues and develop data collection/analysis methodologies (e.g., keep vs. buy, TCO, lease vs. buy, NPV, COSR).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to discuss data analytics with diverse groups and prepare reports.
  • Excellent organizational and planning skills; ability to manage multiple projects concurrently under competing priorities.
