SUMMARYA Supply Chain Planner is responsible for the day‑to‑day planning of material and products utilized by customers for assigned accounts. This includes regularly interacting with suppliers, managing inventory levels, and coordinating with Commodity Managers focused on strategic purchasing. The position works closely with Customer Service and Program Management to manage inventory flow and ensure products are available to ship to assigned customer accounts in a timely manner.
This role provides an opportunity to develop skills in a unique industry with vendor‑managed inventory and cross‑functional interaction.
- Process and work inventory management reporting tools weekly.
- Issue purchase orders to the supply base manually.
- Manage open order reports, ensuring system updates with accurate information for all orders.
- Handle expedited orders and coordinate with personnel to minimize supply chain interruption.
- Coordinate with Customer Service Representatives and Program Managers on inventory issues such as excess and obsolete material, forecast fluctuations, customer obligations, inventory turns, days on hand, exceptions, etc.
- Review new part number set‑ups for accuracy related to planning.
- Manage replenishment methods related to part number set‑ups.
- Coordinate with Supplier Quality team to resolve non-conforming material concerns.
- Communicate with Quality Assurance and Operations to ensure material availability.
- Participate in Supplier Quarterly Business Reviews, developing relationships with the supply base.
- Understanding of inventory turns and their calculation.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word); skilled with VLOOKUPs and pivot tables.
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy and completeness while meeting deadlines.

- 3+ years of related experience in material planning.
- Bachelor’s degree (or pursuit thereof) in a business‑related field, preferably in Supply Chain or Purchasing.
This role operates in a professional office environment. It requires standard office equipment usage, typing, filing, and lifting up to 20 lbs. The worker must hear, speak, sit, stand, move about, and use hands and arms to reach, handle, or feel. Vision requirements include close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
