Overview

Continue to develop your skills in leadership, process, and financial literacy. Lead the Front St. operations exhibiting a culture of accountability and ownership in Safety, Quality, Product, Delivery and Cost. Lead the team to operational excellence through continuous improvement implementing LEAN practices reducing waste while maximizing raw materials and resources. Support Director of Manufacturing in process improvements and talent identification to help us fulfill our purpose of “Continue to find ways to lead innovate and make a positive impact in this world.”

Accountabilities

  • Invest in our Talent: Lead by example. Develop culture of flexibility and continued learning.
  • Keep our team safe! Create and instill a safety-focused culture throughout the team to reduce injuries as measured by RIR and DART.
  • Hold PADNOS (MGT and team members) accountable to our safety rules.
  • Ensure active participation in our safety program (Tier 2’s, safety accountability rules, safety audits, preventative action, training, safety week, etc.).
  • Review, communicate and follow up on all injuries, close calls, damages, and JHAs.
  • Improve the engagement and morale of the team as measured by eNPS or other HR survey tools.
  • Refine organization structure. Improve quality and depth of team.
  • Recruit the right people in the right seats. Build a bench and pipeline.
  • Develop coaching and business acumen including financial and technical literacy. Support the direction and creation of PADNOS Academy curriculum. Ensure creation and adherence to our process flow maps.
  • Mentor and develop Team Lead for GM Demo (18-24 months).
  • Create training program throughout operation utilizing WI, visual aids and training matrix.
  • Be a Best & Brightest Team:
    Create a strong culture of ownership and pride and be the team others want to be a part of.
  • Operational Excellence: Support Director of Manufacturing in building a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Conduct a tiered and structured daily, weekly, monthly meeting rhythm to manage the business and communicate.
  • Right-size our manufacturing operations (people and capital) to align with current and projected business needs.
  • Utilize OEE and DCO metrics to increase capacity and reduce costs of current assets (measure, find baseline, improve).
  • Monthly production forecasting in conjunction with sales to ensure production exceeds sales/purchase needs.
  • Implement checklist throughout site to ensure sustainability of processes.
  • Support integration of AG5 & Dozuki.
  • Create WC for site-specific task as identified.
  • Maximize scrap value: Develop financial literacy to maximize value and efficient disposition of material.
  • Own inventory, recommend pricing, and understand all changes.
  • Know FOB cost of every commodity in your yard and its origin.
  • Know FOB sales value of every commodity in your yard and its destination.
  • Maximize profitability/hour. Measure, understand, and optimize.
  • Consistent and accurate inspection, sampling, grading, and recovery review.
Outcomes
  • 100% participation in safety program, overall score of 90+.
  • Grow team member engagement score in annual survey.
  • OEE – define baseline – improve by 10%.
  • 100% monthly PM completion.
  • Monthly inventory accuracy of 99%.
  • Training matrix defined for all roles.
  • Completion of Rock Goals.
  • Map and define training/succession plan.
  • Scrap literacy: own inventory, price it, understand all changes. Know FOB cost into yard, processing costs, and sales costs. Achieve gross margin goals.
  • Monthly production forecasts for all machines tying in projected sales and receipts. Weekly production schedules by Friday COB.
  • Weekly review of inventory; reconciliation and valuation.
Qualifications
  • Leadership experience managing 10 individuals or more.
  • Lean manufacturing and process improvement experience.
  • Bachelor’s Degree is strongly preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Proven track record of change leadership.
