CNC Machinist

Delta Research is seeking a CNC Machinist to produce precision components for custom dynamometer systems and test stands used in automotive and commercial vehicle applications. In this role, you will set up, operate, and adjust CNC mills/lathes, interpret engineering drawings and GD&T, select tools and fixtures, and verify part quality using precision measuring instruments. You'll collaborate with engineers and technicians to refine designs, support prototype and low-volume builds, and help solve complex machining challenges in an engineering-focused, team-oriented environment that values quality, reliability, and innovation.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC mills and lathes to produce precision components for dynamometer systems and test stands
• Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and GD&T to meet tight tolerances and specifications
• Select and install appropriate tooling, fixtures, and materials for each job
• Monitor machining operations and make offsets or program adjustments to optimize quality and efficiency
• Inspect parts using precision measuring instruments and document results to meet quality standards
• Collaborate with engineers and technicians on prototypes, design changes, and manufacturability improvements
• Perform basic machine troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and keep work area organized and safe
