Department: Home Health (Gaylord, Lewiston, Elmira, Wolverine area)
Daily Work Times: 8:00am - 5:00pm
Shift: Full-Time Days
The Registered Nurse is responsible for the quality of patient care provided to an assigned group of patients and indirectly supervises all nursing personnel assigned to the group. The role focuses on administering medication, performing patient care procedures, organizing care, collecting assessment data, developing care plans, and addressing patient and family learning needs from admission to discharge.
Primary Responsibilities
- Perform basic patient care procedures/techniques competently, including administration of medication.
- Organize patient care effectively.
- Perform assessment data collection in an ongoing and systematic manner, focusing on age, physiologic, psychological and cognitive status of the patient.
- Complete, review, and evaluate the data collected by caregivers.
- Develop a plan of care that prescribes nursing actions to achieve patient goals.
- Identify patient/family learning needs and implement appropriate processes from admission to discharge.
- Required:
- RN licensure
- BCLS certification
- ACLS certification (required for certain units)
- Graduate of an approved school of Nursing
- One year experience in a department clinical specialty
- Current Michigan driver’s license and proof of valid automobile insurance with a clear Motor Vehicle Report (MVR)
- Preferred:
- Experience in home health
