Position Summary
To facilitate the day-to-day operations, lead, develop and represent the department in the service line initiatives. The registered professional is also accountable for the management of patient care during a designated time frame. The responsibilities include coordination and evaluation of care, teaching and delegation of patient activities to the other health care team members.

What the Nurse Manager will Need Education- BSN (Bachelor of Science in Nursing).
- Current Michigan License.
- Current BCLS.
- Successful completion of nursing orientation
- Minimum of 5 years of nursing experience.
- Minimum 1 year of experience in the department.
- Minimum 1 year of experience in management.
- Incorporates and demonstrates the mission, vision, and values of St. Mary Mercy Hospital in leadership behaviors, practices, and decisions.
- Demonstrates customer focused interpersonal skills in order to lead, interact and collaborate with hospital personnel, surgeons, anesthesia providers and customers
- Works with the Director of Perioperative Services to develop and support service line and strategic plan initiatives for the Outpatient Surgery Center
- Actively participates with the Medical Director of the Outpatient Surgery Center to identify and prioritize key initiatives and special projects.
- Demonstrates ability to utilize critical thinking; to identify and solve problems and implement solutions.
- Develops and implements effective ongoing communication process for optimal distribution of information within nursing service, among physicians and other health team members and hospital departments.
