We currently have a contingent/part-time position available for day shift (6am-6:30pm).As an outstanding team in the business of elderly care, Woodhaven Retirement Community that is home to approximately 90 residents, offers Independent Living, Assisted Living and Memory Services, is seeking a compassionate, talented and dedicated Licensed Practical Nurse to join our innovative, caring, and resident centered team. Duties to be performed shall include, but not be limited to the following:

Monitor admissions paperwork

Initiate resident service plan for admissions/re-admissions

Perform daily rounds to ensure that devices/alarms are in place and to ensure quality of care Monitor shower list Monitor weights and inform dietary of weight loss/gain concerns

Assist with call lights

Monitor dining room as needed

Communicate changes in resident status

Supervise Personal Service Attendants and oversee on-floor training

Dispense medications

Perform treatments as ordered by physicians

Assists as necessary emergency calls from Woodpointe Residential Living when necessary

Teach new procedures and techniques to staff

Maintain a positive attitude and cooperate with other departments

Perform other duties as assignedEDUCATIONMust be a Licensed Nurse graduate from an accredited School of Nursing. Must hold a current and unencumbered license as a Licensed Nurse in the State of Michigan.

SPECIAL FEATURES/REQUIREMENTS Licensed as a Nurse for the State of Michigan. Follows/adheres to Woodhaven policies, federal state regulations and guidelines, including Resident Rights; maintains neat well groomed appearance, adhering to Woodhaven dress code.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Experience in geriatrics or long-term care settings.

Certification in geriatrics or other specialty care.

Familiarity with Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems.

Previous experience working as an LPN, preferably in a retirement community, assisted living, or long-term care setting.

Knowledge of Geriatrics:
Understanding of the unique needs and care of elderly residents.

Compassionate & Patient-Centered Care:
Strong dedication to providing compassionate, high-quality care to seniors.

Strong Communication

Skills:

Ability to effectively communicate with residents, families, and team members.

Critical Thinking:
Ability to assess patient needs, make informed decisions, and provide appropriate interventions.

Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification:
Current BLS/CPR certification.

Medication Management:
Experience administering medications, understanding of pharmacology, and ability to handle medication orders.

Documentation

Skills:

Accurate record-keeping of patient information and care provided, in compliance with regulations.

Team-Oriented:
Ability to collaborate with other healthcare providers, including RNs, CNAs, and doctors.

Physical Stamina:
Ability to lift, move, and assist residents as needed, with the stamina to work 12 hour shifts.

Background Check:
Successful completion of a criminal background check and drug screening.

Familiarity with Point Click Care (PCC) system.
