Job Description

Support students’ well-being and academic success by stepping into a dynamic school nurse role at a vibrant educational setting near the Grand Haven, MI area. As a School Nurse on a contract assignment, you’ll play a vital role in promoting health, managing student care, and fostering a safe environment for learners from diverse backgrounds.

Qualifications &

Experience:

• Current and valid LPN, LVN, or RN license in the state of Michigan
• Prior experience as a school nurse or in a pediatric, community health, or school setting strongly preferred
• CPR and First Aid certifications required
• Strong assessment and communication skills
• Ability to work effectively with students, parents, and school staff
• Adaptable, organized, and compassionate approach to student care

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide daily health services for students, including first aid, medication administration, and management of chronic conditions
• Assess and address students’ acute illnesses or injuries while maintaining detailed records
• Collaborate with educators, counselors, and families to support students’ health needs and individualized education plans (IEPs) where needed
• Participate in the development and implementation of health education programs
• Conduct health screenings, maintain immunization records, and track communicable diseases as required by school policy
• Serve as a resource for health-related questions and support a healthy school climate
